2. Signaling Server

Our signaling server is used solely to facilitate the initial connection between peers. It helps devices find each other and exchange necessary WebRTC signaling messages (offers, answers, ICE candidates). Once a direct peer-to-peer connection is established, the signaling server is no longer involved in the file transfer itself.

The signaling server does not log or store any file content or user-identifiable information beyond temporary session IDs required for connection setup.

3. WebRTC Technology

LargeFileTransfer utilizes WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) technology, which enables direct communication between web browsers. This technology is designed with privacy in mind, allowing data to flow directly between peers without intermediary servers once the connection is established.

4. Browser Permissions

When using LargeFileTransfer, your browser may ask for permissions (e.g., to access your file system for saving files). These permissions are handled by your browser and operating system, and LargeFileTransfer does not gain persistent access to your system beyond the scope of the current transfer as granted by you.
